Character Profile of KillJoy

Physical appearance:
KillJoy is enormous, to the point of easily standingout in almost any crowd.  More specifically he stands about 7'8" andweighs around 420lbs, all muscle.  His light brown hair is cut shortand is usually fairly messy and, if his incredible bulk is ignored, helooks like a fairly normal person.  His only readily visible oddityis his eyes, which are a uniform unreflecting black.  This has thepositive side effect of enabling him to see in almost complete darkness. To appear more normal in everyday life, he tends to wear a pair of mirroredsunglasses, which completely conceal his eyes.  Aside from the sunglasses,he usually wears jeans and a T-shirt of one of his favorite bands (Metallica,White Zombie, nine inch nails, Rammstein, Ozzy, etc...), and a pair ofblack combat boots.  Of course, finding clothes to fit his giganticbulk is a challenge in and of itself.

Background:
KillJoy is rather reluctant to talk about hispast, which means that anything prior to his joining TRES Corps is a bitof a mystery.  Any background checks will reveal that, prior to 1998he didn't exist.  He does seem to know more than usual about Lyransand their minions though, in addition to possessing an almost pathologicalhatred for that race of mages.

Skills:
KJ is incredibly proficient at combat, armedor not.  He is incredibly lithe and graceful for his bulk, or evencompared to most athletic humans.  His combat style doesn't correspondto any known martial arts forms and appears to be entirely instinctive. He can use practicially any weapon designed for humans, though he sometimeshas to do things like break off trigger guards to fit his fingers. He also knows how to pilot most common vehicles, though he can't necessarilyfit into all of them.  In addition, he has developed the hobby oftinkering with mechanical things, though not with any skill worth the name. Unfortunately, his education other than that is fairly limited, somethinghe is trying to improve.  He has little knowledge of tactics for anythinglarger than a fireteam and, most strikingly, he is only literate at aboutan 8th grade level.  (enough to read most manuals, though not necessarilyeasily)

Special Abilities:
KillJoy's most important special ability is thecause of the rest of his physical chacteristics.  His basic genomehas been greatly modified from that of normal humans providing, most obviously, his incredible size, strength, and speed.  Less apparent is an enhancedresilience, allowing him to shrug off most small arms fire with littlemore than bruising.  He also posseses and incredible endurance andregenerative abilities, enabling him to actually regrow lost limbs or organsover the course of several months.  On a stranger note are the modificationsmade to his circulatory system, adding a second full sized heart and makinghis blood incredibly corrosive, enough so to burn through metals aftera few dozen minutes.
His other special ability is related to his eyes. Some cultures believe that a person's eyes are a window into their soul;this is certainly true in his case.  He has no soul that any psionicor magic user can detect.  This has one major side effect in thatit renders him immune to psionics and magics.  No mind reading, notelepathy, no magic lightning bolts, nothing.  To all magical or psionicintents and purposes he simply does not exist.  It is theorized thathis creators were attempting to add psionic abilities, but screwed up somehow.

Disadvantages:
Obviously his bulk is almost as much a detrimentas it is an advantage.  While he can lift almost half a ton, KillJoyrather stands out in a crowd and presents quite a large target.  Itis incredibly hard for him to fit in most normal vehicles, much less drivethem.  He also has to eat much more than normal people, for obviousreasons.  Another big disadvantage is his immunity to magic and psionics. While this does come in handy, it also makes him immune to harmless thingslike telepathic communication and even helpful things like healing spells. His blood makes it incredibly hard to do things like surgery and bloodtransfusions, in that it will dissolve most surgical equipment to the pointof uselessness fairly quickly.  His education is quite limited andhe reads quite slowly, in addition to being confused by any aspects ofEarth culture.  (money, for just one example)  He knows littlenot directly related to combat, but this is slowly changing as he learnsmore about life.
